The 'Championships' are back at Hollyburn after a short hiatus and we look forward to seeing everyone again.
Matches may start as early as 3pm for local players and as early as 5pm for out of town players.
The BC Junior Championships are the climax of junior competitions in BC in which provincial champions will be crowned in both boys and girls Under 11, Under 13, Under 15, Under 17 and Under 19 categories. Silver level age event categories will also be available for registration. In addition the BC Junior Squash Service Award and Massey Goolden Trophy are awarded.
Main Draws are split up by gender and age category – winners in this draw will be the Provincial Champions. Players entering the Main Draw must play in their age category for this particular tournament, i.e. they cannot choose to “play up”
If any of the Main Draws are too small, even for a round-robin format, then they could be combined (e.g. GU19 with GU17) but will be structured in a way that will determine, for example, who is the top U19 girl and who is the top U17 girl.
To participate in Squash BC Closed Championships
Athletes must be current members of Squash BC,
AND
must have physically resided in BC and maintained their primary address in BC for the 12 months preceding a Closed Championship, OR
must be Canadian Citizens or have Permanent Resident status and must have a permanent address in BC. If requested by Squash BC, proof of residency must be provided to Squash BC in the form of A household utility bill with a BC address and the family name or guardian’s name or a mortgage, lease or rental agreement for habitable dwelling listing a BC address and the family name or guardian’s name.
